Avocado transplanted leaf pale diagnosis

Planted about 1 week ago, large hole with gravel at bottom and filled with store bought "native mix" soil in Southern California. Is this water related or something else. Not all leaves impacted and not uniform discoloration.

Upon planting root ball did fall apart, is this shock related?

Most likely transplant shock from the sun and roots being disturbed.
It is best to transplant when the days are cloudy.
I would try to keep the leaves dry by watering at the base of plant. Also the soil should be gravel free because gravel in the soil will constrict roots
Make sure a newly planted tree gets water weekly and especially during drought.
I'd keep an eye on it..see how it progresses.
